BTD1 analogue servo drive (Max. output: 260 VAC / 50 A) with IGBT bridge. Ideal for driving 4-quadrant brushless synchronous motors
The BTD1 servo drive is ideal for driving synchronous servomotors (permanent magnet brushless) equipped with a speed transducer, with voltages up to 260 V and maximum currents up to 50 A.
The BTD1 features internal analogue circuits with an IGBT bridge and 4-quadrant operation with no deadband at zero speed: the motor shaft is rigidly held even at standstill.
Settings are adjusted using trimmers, DIP switches and test points; diagnostics are indicated by green and red LEDs.
Further information
Maximum output current: 6 A to 50 A
Maximum output voltage: 1.2 × three-phase supply voltage (MAX 260 V)
Single-phase service supply: 220 V ±10% - 50 mA max., protected by external 250 V - 500 mA fuses
Three-phase power supply: 50 V to 240 V, protected by external fuses as per the user manual
Single-phase power supply available on request

The speed transducers supported by the BTD1 converter are:
- 5 V TTL encoders with line driver + Hall effect sectors
- Resolvers
- Brushless tachogenerators
For other types of transducers, please contact the Alter Elettronica technical department.
NOTE: Please specify the type of transducer when placing your order.
- The main functions of the BTD1 drive are:
- Differential input for the speed reference
- Adjustable and disableable ramp on the speed signal
- Analogue input for external setting of the current limit
- Analogue output proportional to motor speed
- Analogue output proportional to motor current
- Opto-isolated logic controls: 15–30 Vdc, 10 mA max
- LEDs indicating operating status and alarms
- Digital input to perform “Reset stored alarms” from the drive
- "Converter Operational" signal via NO relay contact
- "Simulated Encoder" output: 1024 pulses/revolution, 5 V line driver (not for brushless motors equipped with a tachometer)
- Three-phase line reactance
- Three-phase line filter
