Modul 13/014: Converter from EnDat Linear to TTL Encoder

Designed specifically for reading optical scales and direct position transducers, the 13/014 converter interfaces seamlessly with EnDat Linear transducers. In retrofits of large milling machines, lathes or boring machines, the linear optical scale is the heart of dimensional accuracy. This module allows any commercial Numerical Control (CNC) system or servo drive equipped with a TTL encoder input to read the exact position acquired by the EnDat scale. By converting the absolute data string into differential incremental pulses, the 13/014 ensures smooth, precise axis control that is completely independent of the machine’s original electronics.

Technical Specifications

Input signal: Linear absolute encoders with EnDat 2.1 or 2.2 interface (EnDat 01, 02, 21, 22, Tx models), with or without incremental channels

Output Signal:

  • 1 x 5 V TTL Incremental Encoder Line Driver output and simulated Hall sectors with user-configurable pulses per revolution
  • 1 TTL 5 V line driver output for the speed signal in frequency format (MAX 4000 kHz) / direction (Step / Direction)

Integration: Ideal for position feedback (Direct Feedback) to standardised axis control systems.

Special Functions

  • Zero Without Motion (ZWM): This function allows the "machine zero" to be performed virtually, without actually moving the mechanical axis.
    It is useful for speeding up the operation (up to 255 virtual m/min) or in emergency situations where the axis cannot be moved (e.g. tool in the workpiece).
