The 13/009 converter module has been specifically developed for industrial applications in which brushless motors are fitted with a resolver. Known for its extreme robustness in harsh environments (high temperatures, vibrations), the resolver nevertheless generates an analogue signal (sine/cosine) that many new-generation drives do not natively support. This board processes the resolver’s analogue signal and converts it into a 5V TTL encoder line driver or into a frequency/direction signal commonly used by stepper motor drives.
The perfect solution for keeping reliable motors in operation by updating only the control electronics.
The main features of this product are:
- The resolver can be powered directly by the 13/009 module or by an external board (the module is connected in parallel with the customer’s board).
- The number of pulses per revolution (PPR) of the simulated encoder output can be adjusted.
- One analogue output (±10 V) for the resolver speed signal
- Three digital outputs to signal when a speed threshold, which can be set for each output, is exceeded
- A digital output indicating the correct operation of the module and the resolver signals
- A digital input for connecting a position sensor (with a 24 Vdc signal) to be used with multi-pole resolvers to indicate the zero reference position
- An input for resetting alarms.

Input signal:
- Resolver with 2 to 510 poles (i.e. 1 to 255 pole pairs) – Power supply (if supplied by the module): voltage from 7 Vpp to 28 Vpp, frequency from 3 kHz to 20 kHz (adjustable).
- Voltage of the Sine and Cosine signals (measured between the respective + and - wires): 0.5 Vpp to 28 Vpp, frequency 3 kHz to 20 kHz.
- REFERENCE signal voltage (measured between REF+ and REF-): from 1 Vpp to 50 Vpp, frequency from 3 kHz to 20 kHz
Output Signals:
- 1 x 5 V TTL Incremental Encoder Line Driver output with user-configurable pulses per revolution
- 1 x Line Driver output for speed signal in frequency format (MAX 4000 kHz) / direction (Step / Direction)
